The Origin Story

From Cold Calls to Centre Stage

Bryan has spent more than four decades in and around the sales profession — from individual contributor to sales leader, from enterprise deal-maker to enablement architect. Across every role, one question kept surfacing: why do some salespeople connect instantly while others, equally knowledgeable, fall flat?

The answer arrived unexpectedly in Los Angeles, where Bryan trained professionally in voice-over acting at Kalmenson & Kalmenson in Burbank. The studio's improvisational performance classes revealed something remarkable — the same principles that make a great performer (presence, active listening, in-the-moment adaptability) are the exact skills that separate good salespeople from great ones.

Working alongside a Burbank improv instructor, Bryan began mapping improvisational technique onto Aristotle's rhetorical framework — ethos, logos, pathos — and testing it against decades of real sales experience. The result is the Act Like You Can Sell methodology: a repeatable, human-centred system now captured in full in his completed book manuscript and delivered to sales teams across North America.

The Philosophy

"The best salespeople aren't running a process — they're giving a performance. Every unscripted conversation is a stage, and the prepared seller always wins it."

— Bryan

Selling Is a Performance Art

Bryan's approach is built on three pillars drawn from Aristotle's Rhetoric: Ethos (credibility and trust), Logos (logic and evidence), and Pathos (emotional resonance). Paired with the improvisational discipline of 'yes, and' — staying present, listening fully, and responding in the moment — the Act Like You Can Sell framework gives sales professionals a system for navigating any conversation with confidence and conviction.
